For the lecture I made seven animations: line drawings, drawn after photographs from the archives. From the recordings of the Vrouwenradio Den Bosch and Radio Vrij Den Bosch I made sound compositions to go with them. In the lecture, the films ran in between the text.
On the map of North Brabant, all the initiatives I came across appear, more than a hundred and fifty: women’s cafés, shelters, telephone lines, courses, action groups.

A women’s café turns into a service counter, and back again. The paper garlands become a board with counter numbers, the pendant lamps fluorescent tubes, the beer taps counter windows with glass and a speaking hole, the glasses forms. The women go from chatting and smoking to waiting stiffly with folded hands.
